I'm pretty sure that WAS the REAL WORLD... didn't look imaginary at all... And according to the time slip CiscoBee had the BETTER TIME... that's pretty much the definition of winning... so don't know how you can say he didn't beat him... don't care if the SRT8 spun his tires... don't care if the SRT8 driver got out and pushed... CiscoBee flat out BEAT HIM...

And kuzman89 is 100% correct.. SPINNING AIN"T WINNING!

Had a new Mustang 5.0 roll up on me , 3 beeps, downshift to third, we both punched it, he took a little jump then the boost raamped up and I pulled on him until I let off. When he finally caught me he gave me the thumbs up...

you might want to read the Take it to the track where it belongs...

for example...

Some just don't like hearing that they can or got beat by the little guy. It's just like a NEON SRT-4 or similar destroying a V8. We all mod V6 or V8 we all have a class or car we trying to best on the road. So get over it SS owners, your not the elite cars on the road.

actually you did:

"Had a new Mustang 5.0 roll up on me on the highway, 3 beeps, downshift to third, we both punched it,"

and you don't have to be speeding... look up exhibition of speed laws...

Yes, everyone does it.. i understand that... just don't talk about it here...

  • GM doesn't make a high-tech V8
  • We want to be prepared for the next gen V8s while still having fun today
  • It is a V6 thing, you just wouldn't understand

I've never been at a track where they give a trophy for highest trap speed. Maybe they do somewhere, but in heads up racing it is first driver across the line.

I like your list lol. I most partial to #3. The reason I say this is because I like making power. Not saying that the V6 community hasn't done some great things because y'all definitely have especially you gretchen. But when looking at other 6 cylinder engines that are "low tech" they seem more impressive. But regardless I'm glad y'all don't leave the V6s stock and that vendors are giving more support than they have previously.

Ok guys that's one side of it but who the heck would take a car that traps 105 vs the car that traps 119 stop being silly. Last time I went to the track a Crysler Sebring beat me because I had no grip what so ever does that mean I should trade my SS for his car. If you're going to brag about beating another car be like me and beat him fair and square. That's like me beating a GTR because his tranny broke and claiming my car is faster and oh isn't 119 vs 105 the faster trap. In my world who cares about the faster et if it means the lower trap speed. I would take a 12.0 @122 mph car over a 11.8 @ 110mph car any day so get real. In the real world where crappy a$$ slipping on the drag strip doesn't really come into play that SRT8 would have crushed you so get over it.

I'm sure after he looked at the trap speeds he knew he wasn't plus I'm sure he knew his car has tons of wheel spin. Did you not see the smoke as he left the line. That car traps higher than even the ZL-1 so if you raced a ZL-1 maybe then that means that your car is also better than that car since many ZL-1s trapped lower. So I guess the SS and ZL-1 guys should sell their cars and save big by just buying a V6 Camaro.

But his tranny didn't break, so that's like comparing apples and oranges. I'm sorry if people put all their money into making more horsepower and don't work on traction or driving skills. It's their car so they can do what they like, but no one should complain when the lose...and in fact they lost if they didn't cross the line first in heads up racing. Heck, with bracket racing you can win with a car that has a lower trap and ET because you know your vehicle and can drive. It doesn't just go with auto racing either. When was the last time you saw a sprinter win a marathon or the Tour de France. Every race has its rules. We all compete in that context. That's the real world.
