So went and looked under hood to see what all would be involved in the swap, and noticed my ac belt is literally cut in two, long ways that whole length of the belt. I'm not sure how its staying on.

We do a ton of the SLP and ATI underdrive pulleys, no problems with either.

Had the same thing with my AC belt. Told my salesman about it and he said I am SOL since I did the cam and headers. Went to autozone and picked up a new belt. You need a belt install tool since these are stretch belts. Tool is like $10 on eBay.

Tool comes with oem ac belt. Your salesman was a doucher too, but they are 1 time use belts, not to be stretched off and back on.

Do I need to retune after putting on the underdrive pulley? And if so, how soon?

There is a service bulletin out for this. Mods or not its a factory flaw and IS covered, don't let the salesman fudge with you.

I've heard in some rare cases a udp on a daily driver will kill the battery if you don't drive it in a couple days.

No, just install it and your good to go. All it does is drive you accessories slower, nothing about the engine its self is changing.
