Help! Squeaking on rotors.
So I have about 14k miles on my camaro and I used to have some minor brake squeaking as most camaros do but recently, say the last 1000 miles, Ive been experiencing a light squeaking at low speeds. Around 5 mph I hear a constant squeak as my wheels turn on the passenger side then speeds up at around 10 mph then starts to disappear. Any one else experience this or have an explanation? Just want to make sure its nothing serious.

Mine squeak some when they are dirty. A good wash and rinsing out all the dust seems to help.....for a while at least. Probably just the pad material, everytime I check they look to have life left on them. But I've got nearly 80K on mine too.

I agree I would take it in have them check. That said the squeak is inherent to the Brembo brakes. They tend to cater to the European market and well European's like the squeak. You can try bedding them but I have only had at best a short term result.

Unfortunately the squeal is common on performance brakes like what the Camaro uses.
You can try to have them looked at or replaced with another OEM set but the squeal will return. Imo, you have 2 choices, replace them with a set of ceramic brakes or do a brake bedding procedure, which will only last a few months before it has to be done again. |
