Then my advice is neither. Tires, suspension, gears, first.

I have a 2012 mustang with a CAI and x-pipe. At the track last week I beat up on several 5th gens including one with 10K+ in mods because he had no suspension/tires/etc. He ran mid 13s all night with his supercharged car. I ran high 12s and he wasn't happy.

That's cause he sucks!!
I have a bud who has a KB and Built Trans running high 11's on stock pirelli's. he needs a driver mod that's for sure.

Is that a common issue?...It's got a LS3 and 6 speed, i forgot to include that in my original post. I'm probably not gonna drag race..(much, lol) I don't plan on doing alot of hard launches, plus the car is not my daily driver, i just wanna terrorize the local mustangs, lol.
Replacing the long block only happens for 1 of 4 reasons:
1) Driver Error (going past redline, using cheap gas)

2) Tune Error (bad tune, not safe tune)

3) Not enough supporting mods (no upgraded fuel support)

4) Fluke. Something comes apart as a factory defect.

Replacing the axles or clutch isn't required, but your chances of breaking one increases with the added power. It's a risk, but if you respect the power and know going into it, you *might* have to replace something sooner rather than later, and it WILL NOT be under warranty, then hop on board the FI bus.

Supercharger and a good tune. All day everyday and twice on Sunday. Ask me how I know.

Heads/Cam/Nitrous run with the supercharged cars for half the price.

Naa and add over 100 lbs, cheap rods, cheap pistons, cheap Lil cam and if you touch it then the "warranty" is over lol. Pass

Stroke your motor to a forged 416 and just keep it set up NA til you slap a s/c with 10/12 lbs of boost!!

I'd do that if it was me.

Lots of options/opinions out there, whatever you do make sure you do it in order, i agree with the forged lower end first

For what the OP wants, a new block and stronger rotating assembly is not necessary at all. A blower with a safe tune is all he needs. That will get him a safe 550+ RWHP all day long with no issues. Set a rev limiter and he won't have to worry about over revving. Any good shop will set him up with the proper fuel components. And supercharger companies offer warranties these days. Simply put, between HCI and forced induction...HCI is better only if you're doing your own labor. If a shop is doing all the labor, then forced induction is better.

I'm cam'd and supercharged and my low speed drivability is great. I have JRE's blower cam and Ted did my tuning and I have no issues with low speed. And its not a tiny cam either, its actually pretty big. People are amazed how well behaved my car is. I can drive in 6th gear at 1000 rpms an not have any bucking issues.
Its all about the tune and the right parts combination.

An even cheaper route would be getting a forged set of Eagle H beam rods and a good forged pistons for a forged 376/6.2 you won't need a crank you can use that cause they are good in any high hp applications. Then bolt it all up til your ready for that supercharger. Just my .2
