Don't take this the wrong way - but - as I've stated before we are the first anywhere in the northern hemisphere installing cams into an LLT. We're almost done with the R&D and initial install in 3 months what the big name Cam companies would not attempt because of economics. We've had so many responses of "you should have done this or that" the standard response now is "if that's the solution where's your first set?" I don't see anyone else with a set of cams for the LLT.

Think this thru: give up your car for 3+ months, drop $15k of your personal money into it and get RX and MACE, two of the best companies to work with, to put their reputations on the line into a project with no guarantee of the outcome to deliver a new product that no major company will do.

We'll take as long as we need to get this right.
OMG I was merely implying a status update because the general consensus seems to be "Next Week" no need to get your panties in a bunch. I think there are a lot of eager potential customer who aren't posting in this thread who are awaiting for some numbers or a little more info then what is being provided. I understand RX and MACE aren't exactly big players in the automotive performance industry and are risking a lot to make this happen, so don't imply that I am ignorant. I am just wondering what exactly is happening with these cams and if there is an actual schedule plan to this.

If things are going to be in the wood works for awhile and this project is just going with the flow alright. I understand.

Yes, prior to late 2010 are recommended to upgrade to the newer factory version.

Fortunately been busy with work and home so have had diversions. We're getting down to the wire on the installs so ill have her back soon enough. Have had time to think of next projects. It's all good though.

Yea, I got my cams sitting at home I was told to hold on the install while we waited to see what grind is better.

Hi Jarp,

Thanks for the link - started reading and I'm only half way thru - everyone following along can start on at least page 12 to get past the initial "is it ready" threads. LOL, hmm this seems familiar.

Based on a late night conversation with Steve, this new set should be more suited to provide more low end and mid-range than the first "speedway" grind. I will say the new grind is a split duration - so will give these a try. The SD should give the ol' girl a nasty sounding idle too. Since you've been involved in the testing longer, you probably know which grind I'm talking about.

Grand Poobah has another idea if these aren't quite the answer. if these come on the cam near 2000 to 2500 and depending on how they pull might be a good choice for some without the drawback of the "speedway" grind.

Nah knew nothing about the grind so the SD sounds interesting. Had to do a bit of reading. Looks like that means the exhaust lobes will maybe have a greater duration than the intake lobes. As you say and also from what I've read this aids in torque production lower in the curve. Will be interesting to see how this goes particularly when it comes time for Tracy to pop the new heads on. Will you be testing both grinds with the new heads? Good luck with the fit today and of course the tuning. Sooner the better from my perspective I must say

Hi Jarp, for now will be testing just the new grind and see how that goes. If we need another project we may do a third grind.

Keen to see how this goes. I've seen the Aussie results, but have yet to see the guys at RX and Vince work their magic on a Camaro.

Yellowglide, will this ever be seeing FI, or strictly NA? Stroker etc? My V6 has a supercharger bolted to the side so keen to see what sort of gain is to be had with FI. Specifically if you say the newer cams are more focused towards low/mid range.

Hi Kuzman, for the short term will stay NA but already looking at going stroker and then SC at some point - I want to build a solid foundation before adding boost - need a good crankshaft which is not quite there yet. Next think will be the valvetrain - need to get the motor to spin at least 8k.

We should have some solid info on the new cams shortly and then a few days later the cams / heads / intake manifold. If I were a gambling man I'd bet Tulkas is already running the new grind based on his comments and the specs I have.

Based on what I've read on the JC site, we owe you fellas down under a big thanks for paving the way!
