The x3 harness that comes in the kit contains an extra wire that is your turn-on signal for the amp. It is the white wire with the orange stripe sticking out there all by itself.

Steve,
What system (complete) do you recommend for the new 2013 ZL1 convertible? I have the Boston 8 speaker with the 10" subwoofer 245 watts.

See the spare looking wire in the pic below? That is the Remote Enable wire that we built into the harness. It is not long enough to reach all the way to your amp's remote-on terminal. So take some of the blue turn-on wire from the included amp kit, Attach to this wire, to extend it and attach the other end to the remote-on terminal of the amp.

ok got it, the big long fat cable (think u call it "speedwire") has a blue wire, i connected that and have bass! but none of the other speakers in the car come on, thought "tied back into the harness going out to all the car's speakers" (so not needed to rewire all my spackers), not sure what "9-wire speed wire connects to the output terminals on your amp" means as yet also, fun times.

I see, you have the non ba. Did not know that. In that case, the solid blue wire of the cable that contains the 9 smaller wires (speedwire cable) is the turn-on wire for the amp(s). Since this is the amp integration harness, it is assumed that you are also installing an amp to power the car's speakers. So you would hook up the included rca cables to the rca's on the harness and run all of it to the rear. The rca's will be the input signal for the amp. The 8 remaining wires of the speedwire connect to your 4 channel amp. Hook up power, ground and the remote-on wires and all the speakers in your non-ba car are now amplified.

With this particular harness, yes. That is why we offer two harnesses. The first and less expensive harness is a simple rca-out harness. Similar to the pac aa-gm44 but without a big honkin line converter on it that you have to somehow shove in your dash behind the radio. It's main use is to allow you to add a sub, but does not interfere with the current speakers in the car.

The second harness is our integration harness (as seen in your link above). This kit lets you add an amp that will amplify the speakers in the car. Since they are built somewhat differently, it is very important to choose the correct harness for your application. Perhaps I should start a thread that explain how each one works.

the integration harness lets u have a sub amp as well as a 4 channel amp (2 amps in the trunk)? if so i'm feeling the need to go pick up a 4 channel amp and connect this all up sexii style.

OK all installed (kind of), sounds awesome by the way- I'd recommend the 4 channel install, it rocks!. All i have left todo is build/get something for my 4 channel amp (nothing to attach it to).

Number one hassle was putting the radio face plate back on, requires 2 people, one to hold it, another to push the pins down.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the help (super thanks to our Steve). Soon as I've mounted the 350.4 i'll post pics. Top amp installing amusement, first time I've wired anything (car will probably explode tomorrow ).
