The 1950 Chevy Truck, had been in the family originally but had been in a crash and had the engine replaced.

The 1967 Camaro was originally a v6, but it was re-done with a small block.

The previous seasons, Chip and the A team was all about keeping things original if they could. In both of these cases they were already "ruined" and not original. So why not just go all out?

It was nice to see the show again though. I do kind of miss the pranks and how they take the vehicles. I'll try and watch a few more though.
Like I said, it was not really a numbers car or even a "worthy" mostly original car. But they did cut up the interior which had already been replaced.

I went through all the phases. When I bought my car it was the 80s and I was in high school. I was all about making it faster. So, I took stuff off and replaced it at will. Then, I tried to make it a more streetable car (late 90s) and replaced a few suspension and interior parts. Luckily, I kept everything and am now puting it all back to original.

I'm not at all and have never been into "resto-mods" where they replace everything except the body (though cut it up tubbing it). Hey, it's just my opinion and preference. So, I'll stick to not liking Chip cutting up classics. He is great at what he does. I am a fan. But some stuff I just don't like done... Oh, and I'm not into those two tone paint jobs, either.

Also, there was one thing during the build that has me a little confused. During the show it showed the girl welding a slug into the outside door handle hole and smoothing it out which led me to believe that it would have shaved door handles which had me at the time going "Oh no!", and now I see it has the door handles, am i missing something?

Never mind! I went back and magnified the above picture, it was the door lock she was eliminating.

It was just the key lock holes they plugged.

Did anyone catch this weeks episode it was pretty awesome that he got to help out on his old car and it was a rad looking bug. I like the new format as well.
