What part of my statement are you claiming BS? that gas contracts, or that they (the expert talking heads) recommend you fill your tank up in the evening or morning?

now how far below ground is the tank on your car exactly? or the gas in that rather long hose and pipe running just below the concrete, heated by the sun in the afternoon sun, to the pump itself? Our the medium size overflow bin buried next to the main tank to prevent back-flow?

unless your under the mistaken impression that theres less than your tank can hold above or slightly below ground that outside temperatures do directly effect...

course it could all get from the underground tank, which you also seem to think is buried more than a couple feet down, to the pump by magic?

Thanks for all the input. The dealer checked the tank and all the hoses/clamps. It does not appear there are any obvious leaks. It is just odd though. I let the car sit in the closed insulated garage for several hours last night, which should have allowed all temps equalize. I checked the needle before I went to bed. When I got up in the morning and performed the same test, the needle read just a little lower like before. It was a warm night so if anything I would have expected expansion.

Are there any '12 2LT owners that can perform the same test?

You obviously misinterpreted my post. I highlighted the question I was responding to and gave a logical answer to it.

Your entire effort to belittle me via the internet was a failure. Bravo.

I dispute the validity of the qualifications of "they," the "expert talking heads."

Judge for yourself regarding the validity/practicality of the time-of-day fueling recommendations:

It's the pressure in your fuel tank when driving making it read a bit higher. AN as it empties reads more accurate due to smaller pressure in a larger fume void.

I made that up. lol

There is one last test you can do (not sure it proves anything tho). At night go into the menu and check the DIC to see what the estimated mileage on remaining gas. Repeat in the morning and check for differences.

Good luck.
