Let's plan the next trip to the track. I will go with you and we will get it dialed in.

Please elaborate.

I calculate a 2.32 pressure ratio with this combo. TVS is good for 2.4. What is max rpms for TVS?

Nevermind, I see max rpms listed around 28k. Using a 2.55 upper with a 10 lower I should top out under 28k BRM at engine rpm of 7000.
Maybe I will stick to 2.55 upper with this lower. The 2.38 kicks blower rpm over 29k. I may have to look into better bearings.

Interestingly, blower efficiency is (apparently) still at about 68% at 18 PSI

Its hard to find actual hard data on the 1900 tvs on the internet. Eaton's web site really sucks at providing usefull data for their Superchargers.
If I need to I will upgrade supercharger if need be, Soon I'll be looking at internal engine mods anyway..

It's going to have to be Speed World. I'm really not a fan of Firebird after last night. If it's not an NHRA event with John Force, You may as well go home.

The tech guys wanted to make a big deal out of not having a drive shaft loop but in the 5th gen Camaro the drive shaft is practically in a full tunnel! And no one was able to run fast last night so it didn't even matter!

In this run, against my son in the yellow SS by the way, I even tried PTM mode 5 with launch control. I was worried what the added torque would do so I only tried it once. Probably won't be doing that any more. It still carried the drag radials spinning out through 1st gear...

A question for you First Gen..What fuel pump are you using?. I am considering the Aeromotive Eliminator in-tank unit. I like the idea of 1 pump instead of add on pumps.

I'm running the Livernois in tank dual pump for the ZL1. It connects to all the factory connections but will require you to re-tune. Throws A/F out of wack across the board.

Noticed this morning. I was keeping an eye on my tires so this must have happened on my last run where I finally broke out of the 12s with soft launching the car. These beads are glued and the valve stem mark was lined up with the valve stem before the run...

I call this my "Full Disclosure" post. Friday's outing was a mixed bag for me because although I took my ZL1 and did not do well, my son ran our 2010 SS (all stock) as his first time down a drag strip and he really impressed me. I was a proud father Friday night for his performance with that car! He's car #403 on two of the time slips below.

Nice job Alex!

Now for the disclosure. The time slips below are my final 3 runs of the night and the only 3 that I didn't shut the power down at the end. I started the night attempting to get my launches figured out without running faster than 11.5 because the tech crew were EXTREMELY strict to point out that without a roll cage and drive shaft loop, I would be kicked out if I ran quicker than 11.5. At first, I thought that would be my biggest issue because I have a 700HP car and drag radials so of course i would hit 10s if I didn't take it easy right? Wrong!

I'm car# 402 on these slips

Between my own nervousness and the slickness of the track Friday, every launch felt like a tap dance through a mine field!

I've drag raced 400 to 500 RWHP cars years ago. Autos and stick. Stick was always tricky so I installed a line lock in my ZL1 to help with burnouts and staging. My biggest enemy on my launches was my own mind. Between managing the traction control every time I would restart the car, using the line lock, and trying not to over power the launch, I ended up with crappy reaction times, wheel spinning 60' times, and a powerful car that once I hit 3rd gear would spend the top end of the track actually putting down the power.

So now other than tuning my own mental reaction time and making sure I go to a track that actually does a nice job with prep, I am on the fence with the next step on this car. My goal all along has been to build a 700rwhp daily drivable street Camaro that makes torque everywhere, is a blast to drive, but civilized when you need it to be. I would like to take road trips with this car and be able to occasionally put people in the back seat. My outing to the drag strip was intended to be a "lets see what the car can do?" Not the next chapter of building an NHRA legal 10 second car.

So today as I debate the following list...
-Bogart 17" wheels and Hoosier slicks
-Beadlocks or no beadlocks
-A custom drag tune on the ECM reducing torque down low
-RPM bolt in Roll Cage and Moroso Driveshaft loop
-Race gas tune

I have to ask myself if all of this is worth it to get that 9.999 timeslip and then go on with my life having a 2 seater Camaro and some expensive wheel/tires to sell on cragslist.

If you're truly happy with the way the car is now then there's no need to waste the money unless you plan on doing a lot of drag racing.

My best run was 11.7 at 125MPH against a supercharged Mustang GT and he was frustrated that he usually runs 11s and couldn't get out of the 12s tonight.

I shall return!

It is hard. You have to put that power down early for sure and that's no easy feat.
