Rear Wheel Hub bearings replaced.
The car has 22,000 miles on it and last August I replaced the Left Rear Wheel and Bearing, now the right rear is making noise. Will be replaced tomorrow. Has anybody had similar problems? My tires are Pirelli 295 35 20's not that much bigger then stock.

I just had a hub bearing replaced last night, front passanger side. I have about 33,000 miles. Did a quick search to see if this is an isolated problem or if I should expect to have more replaced in the future. My bumper to bumper ends in a couple of weeks. The dealership did replace the assembly under warranty.

Can this part going bad cause a service stabilitrak message to appear? I'm at the dealer now, and I thought it was a wheel speed sensor... It's giving a C0035 code.. But they are telling me that you cannot just swap the sensor out, you have to swap the entire hub out. And then they proceed to tell me that it is no longer covered under the power train warranty. GM stopped covering hubs under the power train warranty in 2009... I have a 2010.
also, why do they sell the sensor by itself if it's supposedly all one assembly?

That's a joke. I remember a guy that said he bought new ones and installed himself.

Hubs have always been powertrain, regardless of what year your vehicle was built/bought..! I have done plenty of hubs on 2010's and a few 2011's under powertain warranty. Not sure where you got this information.
C0035, is a wheel speed sensor circuit codel, I'm not really sure but I think it's a RF wheel speed sensor circuit code. The wheel speed sensors on some models and certain hub designs are serviceable, to my understanding they are not on the Camaro and come part of the hub in from but not in back, but don't quote me on that, my car is stored for the winter and I don't have access to it to confirm 100%. The main reason they got away from replaceable wheel speed sensors is because more then 70% of the time when someone or technicians replaced sensors at whatever shop they worked at, they were never replaced properly, causing wheel speed drop off and intermittent ABS related lights to come on and to be honest, they suck to change out, they always break then it becomes a challenge to try and get the rest of the sensor out without damaging the hub or having to remove the hub. |
