You need to get David to redo your SIG to include your Harley.

What Tires???
OK. So here's my dilemma;
Spoke to Discount Tire last night about some new rollers. I'm looking at a full wheel/tire package, but haven't found the right wheel yet that doesn't cost $700 each. Considering the TSW Interlagos.We gave up after an hour of searching, and started talking about tires. I had made up my mind that I will not be going with P-zeros again, and would buy the BFG Comp 2's after all the rave reviews I've heard (9.5 customer rating). Then they showed me a few other choices. The Continental DWS is expensive, but has a 10 rating, and much higher tread wear rating (480 vs. 340 for the BFG). They also have a 50K mile tread warranty (the BFG's have none). The Conti warranty drops to 25K for staggered setups like ours. Then we looked at the Nitto Motiva. I'm not that familiar with their products, but they had a 9.0 rating from the customers. They have a 560 tread wear rating, and a 60K mile tread wear warranty, even on staggered setups! From what I read, they're quieter than the P-zeros and excellent in overall performance. For how conservatively I drive the car (quiet Glen! ), I think the Motiva's may be worth considering. The Conti's are out of reach price-wise, but the Motiva's are not. They come out to $100 more than the BFG's for the set, but I haven't approached them about the "Family Member Discount" they've given me in the past.![]() Wondering if anyone else has tried the Motiva's and what their opinion is of them. I figure even if I get half the life out of them (30K miles), It's still more than I got out of the Pirelli's, and I'd get an offset from the warranty on my next purchase.

Just off the top of my head, I would think that the higher the tread wear rating, the harder the rubber, the harsher the ride. Just my 2 cents.

![]() I used Nittos on cars I had in California and I liked them a lot. They weren't performance tires but they rode well and I had zero problems with them. Other folks I know who used Nitto tires were quite satisfied with them. They do make a quality tire. |

I see Nittos on a lot of 'ricers,' must be good tires.

I have no problem being the test mule for the Nitto tires, and the manager at Discount has no issue with me bringing them back if I don't like the ride/noise/performance. I've been buying all my tires from them since 1985. The other dilemma I'm now struggling with is should I step up to 22" if I buy the rims too?

You would be shooting the hope for decent ride quality right in the foot. 22's will look nice but your side wall will be even worse so a higher chance of rim damage. Personally 20's are risky enough from some of the damage I have seen.
