You know, Jay Leno seems to be a real car guy. So what if we all wrote to him/his show explaining our problem and that we simply want to know what tranny he has on his TTV6 car? If he is a real car guy I see no reason why he wouldn't give us some info.
I am worried that it is not cheap. |

Summit has built tr6060s for 2800$ outright. Site had the input shaft spec of 1 1/8" 26 spline. If we can get the input shaft size and some pics of the bell housing might be able to do some measurements.

He does not have the car in his collection...it is GM owned and hard to say what GM is doing with it at this point, but it was really nice to see that well after the SEMA show where it debuted, they were still tweaking it and testing with it. He is definitely a car guy.

Look at this post in the V8 and V6 Transmission forum- Poll: Project clutch master cylinder/second gear grind ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
IDEALG The 5th Gen's have a mastercylinder (not really a slave) under the clutch pedal. This member has modified it to provide more volume when depressed and it appears to alleviate the 1-2 shift grind. Some people are also separating the reservoir for the hydraulics (brakes and clutch) to help keep the fluid cleaner, etc... I just changed out the m/c and I'm really excited about the improved shifting!! |

And then there is the cost of installation... .
But I'm sure this will be in my tran's future at some point. In the meantime- don't over look the IDEALG modified clutch master cylinder. That combined with clean fluid (surprisingly dirty after just 9K miles), has really improved (OK- done away with) my fast-shift grind so far. Definitely worth doing IMHO. |
