v6 diff fluid change

i have been looking through the threads and have seen a few confusing posts concerning the v6 auto trans diff fluid change....im seeing some people use the Royal Purple max gear fluid and saying that no LS additives need to be put in because it contains them already...and some saying you always have to add the GM LS additive..2.5 oz to be exact...same goes with the Mobil 1 LS synthetic 75w90...and is it 1 bottle of either fluids..the RP or M1 or 2 bottles??..and then add some additive when your finished adding the diff fluid...or do you mix the additive in the bottle of diff fluid and then put it in?...and then i read in another post while you are filling the diff that you need to put the car in gear for some reason or another??

As I understand it, since you have a V6 and an automatic, no additive is necessary because you don't have a "Limited Slip Differential." The "Limited Slip Differential", which requires the additive, only comes with those V6 cars with a manual transmission and all SS models (unless that changed for 2012). Anyway, thats the way I read the owners manual.

I changed my 1LT fluid at 13k with RP 75w90. Super easy no additives for our 1LT. 2 plugs to remove.

Wear gloves!!! The smell is bad and its worse when it is on your hands. The plugs are magnetic and will have shavings on them. Clean them off. Put the bottom plug in and add the fluid. 1 bottle will do. Pm me for questions

Another tip. Remove the top plug first. Just in case you cannot get it out, you didn't already remove the bottom one and drain all the fluid.
