I can assure you this is not tune related. There is no way what so ever that we could possibly do something to affect only cyl 1,3,5 and a o2 sensor on one side. My opinion is you have a bad o2 sensor on the one side, or an exhaust/vacuum leak. But yes flash back to stock and see if it still does it.

Ok I flashed it back and at first it didnt start. now it barely starts and it smells like straight gas. I scheduled an appointment with the dealership tomorrow at 8am...
I have all of these mods, I wont even know what to say to them when I bring it in because I am pretty sure they will just say it was my fault and then ill have to pay cause i wont be under warranty anymore...I checked where the pcv hose connects and it was pretty oily. I am not sure if that helps or is the problem at all. How can I tell if a sensor went bad? What should I do from here?

I wasnt assuming it was the tune by the way. I dont mean to make anybody look bad, I was just wondering if that was the issue. It was good to flash back to stock anyway since I am bringing it in tomorrow...

Look for vacuum leak on the passenger side of your IM I think. Pick up a can of carb cleaner, etc.. and spray at the base of your IM.

If your idle speeds up/smooths out, its a leak. Try re-tightening your bolts but new gasket maker maybe necessary.

If there's no leak, take advantage of that Mace spacer clearance and pull one or more of the sparkplugs on the passenger side.

See if they're fouled or lean. These steps should give us more to go on.

And what did they do at the DMV?

sorry...1, 3, 5 are all passenger side. still check your PCV fittings. and try a can of ether while idling. spray around the passenger side of the IM and PCV fittings.

An unlit propane torch will have the same effect as the ether, in case you have some of that around, and it's pretty easy to direct the gas with a torch head on the top of the can.

Your engine mods are minor, I would just throw myself on the "mercy of the court". Just be honest and tell'em about the spacers. It's not like you bolted on a turbo with nitrous. Most likely this is an easy fix that will not entail alot of expense.

Sounds like you've lost spark (fouled plugs ) or just gone into open loop operation due to an airleak.

Have you been able to check the tightness of any bolts? If you're without tools and unable to do any diagnosing yourself just take it in, and treat the dealer rep like a regular guy- most of them are!

They just might surprise you .

That is helpful and informative- thank you.

But as we are discussing the V6 engine, I thought the odd number cylinders were on the passenger side.

Could you be more specific?

That's what I get for not paying attention. I was thinking V8. I'm not sure about the 6. Carry on.

I believe you are still correct.
The V6 cylinder numbering uses the same pattern as the V8.

I too had these misfires when cold, there is a dealer service bulletin re-flash for this. I posted a while back in the warranty section.
You should do a fuse pull and see if that re-sets everything.

Ok so I went into the dealer, told him about my problems and what mods I had and he said they will look into it. After sitting for 3 hours, he came to me and said that he thinks there is something wrong with the fuel pump and that he will need it for a couple of days and offered me a malibu for the weekend.

He also said my mods seem to not be the cause of the problem. So it is all under warranty. So hopefully when they actually find out what happened, he will still think it wasnt my mods and itll still be under warranty.

Phew!
