Well you know what they say, " there's an ass for every seat". To each his own right? If it was functional it may have been worth it. But IMO it takes away from the clean lines of the nose. Even with a delete plate painted to match the car, it would still look odd.

Actually the Computer programmer made the mistake when entering the part numbers for the build. Each car has every part to be assembled come down the line and is supposed to be matched up with the car it is supposed to go on as it gets to that point. If it gets a wrong part put on it more than likely the wrong part number was matched to the wrong car. The assembler just grabs the part and puts it on as they get there. I don't think there is a big bin of the parts there that the assembler has to choose which one is supposed to go with which car.
I would tend to believe that maybe the dealer swapped the front with a V6 a customer bought and wanted an SS nose or the car got damaged in transit and the body shop ordered the wrong piece to go back on it.

Yeah and that's why I got a V8, the V6's don't have the mail slot!

No it doesn't. The tips are way bigger than the V6 ones.

It's an SS

Ok, you noticed that the one next to it is a 2013 and you think this is a used car lot? Around here, the cars on used car lots don't have new car window stickers in them.

That is the dumbest reason I've ever heard for not getting a V8 Camaro.

I'd say that this is much more likely to be a factory screw-up than a dealer screw-up. If the dealer did it, they would had to have ordered multiple incorrect parts. One of the local body shops here ordered a V8 bumper cover for a V6. When they realized that the lower grille was also different, they sent it back and ordered the correct cover.

what's the name of the dealership? Hell I'll call them.

For the Op that said you didn't get the SS because of the mail slot. No one is buying that as an excuse.

Really, has anyone seen what goes on at the factory when they build these? There is no way this came from the factory this way. I'd bet anything on that. It just doesn't happen.

That Camaro was built on Friday at 6pm.
Or someone bought a V6 car from the dealer but the buyer wanted a SS nose. Dealer swapped noses and hope no one notices.
Or the SS nose was rashed during a test drive.

Someone looked this car up on that dealers website and the pictures they had showed the SS nose so the dealer must have replaced it for some reason, it was NOT done at the factory.
