Cleaning Intake Manifold Of Oil

Hey guys so after reading all the horror threads about oil in the intake and catch cans I ordered myself an RX catch can (instantly). So this solves further oil in the manifold. But what can I do to clean out all the oil just sitting in there. I was thinking seafoam, but is it really that effective? I took a peek and there is quite a bit in there and I only have 12k miles. should i be worried?

No imo you shouldn't be.. I had a little bit and got the catch can the same time as you...idk if its safe for the v8 manifold to do this but I soaked my manifold in simple green...rinsed and let it dry

It is terrifying isn't it. Rest assured though, the RX can is one of the best at removing all the scary oil.

Talking

I put my Vmax throttle body on shortly after I put the RX can on and while I was changing throttle body I took a rag and sprayed it with throttle body cleaner and used a stick to reach in there the best I could and cleaned it out! Mine wasn't that dirty and I got very little out of it! Good luck!!!

What would happen if the throttle body stuck open when accelerating?

Only untill you let go of the pedal, the ecu will kill timing and fuel to prevent an unentended acceleration event.
