Hi guys

I just bought the Borla X pipe ( Part# 60512 ) for the Camaro SS. I'm wondering, is it legal? I mean can it pass the emission inspection in Virginia?

It is perfectly legal. You are not touching the factory cats. This bolts on after the factory cats. btw You do have the Borla axel back already I assume?

Emissions has to do with the cats. As long as you don't mess with them, you're good to go.

I thought that Virginia has issue with any mods. For your sake, I hope that I'm wrong, but I remember reading horror stories about anything non-stock on a car in Virginia.

You shouldn't have an issue with an Xpipe. Never heard of any laws against anything after the cats.

Yah , Virginia has strict rules. I had an accident recently, and the police gave me a reckless driving ticket. This is because he saw me driving a sport car and he assumes I was drifting =.= .. . . WTF . Virginia police is the worst police I have ever seen.

Should be fine. X-pipe has nothing to do with emissions.

i have long tube headers and an x-pipe im in northern Virginia i haven't had problems with the police i just keep it under control my car is loud when i want it to be but i can keep it quiet when needed as far as emissions go i passed with hi flow cats.

They can't restrict you from doing anything that doesn't affect the emissions of the car. They could get you for being too loud but as long as you're not running straight pipes, you shouldn't have issues with that.

It would not be a direct bolt up, but you could get a shop to modify them to work. Jegs has a stainless x pipe that looks like the borla for alot less. I would check it out 1st.

The X-pipe has no bearing on what mufflers you can run. It's totally seperate and in a totally seperate location. If you're talking catback, there's most likely a X pipe already incorporated. If you're talking axleback, again, it's in different location and doesn't prohibit you from running any axleback.
