I do not know if this picture has been posted yet. I never really noticed the bumper paint mismatch everyones been talking about lately but this pic really shows it

That's exactly the look I noticed in person. I'm seriously considering other colors now.

I had posted in another thread that I saw an IBM Camaro yesterday at LenStoler that had a slight mismatch on the front bumper. It seems it's not exclusive to one color.

yeah I know that, it just looks bad because the way it just stops right where the bumper ends... it still probably wont stop me from getting IOM though

We needed another thread on this like a hole in the head.
It's a materials mismatch not a paint mismatch. Either the materials need to be matched or the surface needs a different prep, like a primer coat on the whole car. That's what I think is going on anyway. I think one thing some folks may be thinking of are the early high quality Renders that GM had done. I forget the name of the company but they hired a company to make some high quality CGI renders. In those they use the same shader math. So you can't see it in the renders vs real life photos and paint. |

And if you stand over the joint between the fascia and front fender the colors match perfectly. They all match perfectly. Not sure why the angle impacts how they look or the lighting. But I've checked every metalic I can get close to and they all match perfectly when you stand right over the two panels.

The color is really weird. You can really tell color differences on angles in the sun.
