My MT82 is one of the ones that's had issues. I had a clutch replaced at 900 miles due to the flywheel bolts backing out, and the trans was replaced at 19k miles due to gear whine. That being said, it still a great transmission when it's working. Perfectly geared for the 5.0 and a very smooth and positive shifter.

And heaterman, I agree with you on the sound system. The shaker500 is a joke. I do like the gauges better in the Mustang though, I find them much easier to read. When i was buying my 5.0, Camaro didn't have the HUD or navigation available as an option. I'm glad they finally started offering that.

I like the amenities and styling of my Camaro more than my Mustang. Then again these two (of mine) are different kinds of animals. Mustang's engine/performance is topshelf; the rest of the thumbs up goes to the Camaro, IMO.

How times have changed...nowadays having a "nicer" sound system seem to matter a lot to a lot of people. Give me better performance and a freaking 8 track or cassette deck any day.

I've always though the Shaker 500 in my car was pretty good....Of course, that's compared to my Alero, so maybe not much of a contest.

Never actually listened to the sound system in the Camaro. Test drove plenty, but never had the radio on. Is everyone comparing to the base system or the Boston Acoustics system?

While I am always for more performance, it's nice to have "nicer" features in the vehicle, as you are not spending 100% of the time using the performance the car offers. It's nice to have a nice stereo, nice seats, legible gauges, good driving position, working A/C etc.

Neither the Shaker500 nor the BA system are anything to write home about. I came out of a G37 Coupe with the Bose 13 speaker system, and that thing was pure shit, but still leagues over the systems in the Mustang and the Camaro. I have still to hear the ShakerPro in the 2013+ Mustangs.

I understand. But most do not live in their car that a marginal difference between the two sound systems matter a whole lot. I have been in a co-workers Mustang many times and I tell you, there really isn't a considerable difference in the two that can warrant a car guy to go one way or the other because of it. The BA in my SS is ok at best just like the Shaker 500 in the Mustang.

Everyone has their opinions, everyone has their own viewpoints. I would just ignore those subjective narrow minded conjectures...

being an owner of both here are my thoughts...

Daily driving = Mustang is better because it isnt a blind spot nightmare the camaro makes you feel tiny and it feels as if your looking through a tank making visibility VERY poor as in the mustang you have WAY better visibility through the car, also most people like modding their cars and it seems like its VERY hard to find an aftermarket exhaust that doesnt have a mind crushing 6th gear drone at cruising speeds...

Looks = Both cars get great looks and they each have the enthusiasts but hands down it seemed that the camaro was the winner in this department with the general public.

Traction = The camaro had better traction im sure the weight and less power did help with this at some point but regardless nothing a change of tire cant fix but hey stock i guess ill give this to the camaro too

Power and speed= Hands down the 5.0 it was easy for me to get 4 tenths and 10 more MPH down a 1/8th track in my 5.0 when it was stock vs the camaro...

the market for aftermarket mods = i feel like there was more accesibility to parts for a mustang than their was for the camaro also parts seemed cheaper just my 2 cents but idk if this has improved for the camaro.

other thoughts... they both have their weak points the camaros interior feels plasticy and the mustangs interior seems more appealing yet the damn transmission on the mustang is known for being shit while the camaro has a great tranny in the manuals they both have other things that are better than the other here and there....

basically if i could have both i would but if i had one choice id never give up my mustang...
