I'm in the midwest and pay less than $800 per year. No accidents or tickets. I called for an ins. quote BEFORE I bought my 1SS and they told me it would only be $5 more a month than my current 2010 hyundai Genesis sedan..I was at the dealer 30 minutes later and permagrin ever since!

I'm 18 as well and I pay $1,560 a year for insurance, full coverage, with $250 comprehensive deductible and $500 collision deductible. Go find a new company.

I'm paying about 950 for my ZL1 with State Farm and using the on star to get additional discounts on the mileage it is driven, up to 30%.

Yup, then again if he gets the SS and pays $13,000 a year
Just think about that ZL1 he could get in 5 years.

lol. Who would want to wait 5 years to drive a nice car, if you can drive nice car now, which is just a tad simplier.

Insurance is no longer a gamble for company or consumer.

They will NEVER lose. Nowadays its more like a savings account with substantial penalty for use. If you are forced to pay some high risk rate, they should give you some money back if you go a few years without making a claim.

When I was 16 the insurance on my 1979 WS6 T/A was $2400 per year

Today I'm paying a total of $1800 per year for my 2010 Callaway and my 2012 Jeep JK Rubicon. The Camaro was actually $150.00 cheaper per year to insure than my 2002 Firehawk was!

I've heard VW's are expensive to insure.

For comparison 22, married, in SA, TX it costs me around 700/yr for the Camaro (2SS)
