Commits weekly crime

I think the thing to ask is....look at your driving record. There's a reason it would be that high. Not only are you young, but you're driving a Camaro. Those two, in themselves will cost a little. There has to be something more than that to be reason the rates are high. Accidents, speeding...whatever.

I have a clean record, 26yrs old, zero accidents(knock on wood) but my insurance is $300/month. My sister tells me its because my credit score isn't the best. True?

As far as having the money for it...again, I say...TANSTAAFL. Point is, you're young. I have no idea if the PBJ was for drunk driving, reckless driving...or what. Doesn't really matter. There's a reason they are charging so much, and that is because you are a high risk to them because of your driving. Driving an SS on top of that is just stupid until you let your record cool down for a while. Otherwise, you're going to continue paying through the nose.

Sheesh! I've never even seen motorcycle insurance that high!
You should sell that car, buy a beater, start a 401k with the money, and go to college. Sent from my abacus using precise finger movements...... |

First off you are 18, so you are young an inexperienced (in the eyes of the insurance company) Secondly, you live in MD, and what's close to MD, Washington DC, a very high rate of insurance there. Thirdly, you stated it yourself, no job. No job means no income which to the insurance company means harder for you to pay. Fourth, brand new car and full coverage. How about these questions: Are you married? Being single in the eyes of the insurance company tells them you are less likely to be responsible Do you have a college degree? They view this as a negative fact on your insurance for whatever reason. Are you living with other licensed drivers without insurance? When I had geico and was living at home with my parents, my younger brother got a license but had no car or his own insurance. As result, my insurance went up because they see a licensed driver as a possible liability to drive that car, regardless of how much you tell them you'll kill that person if they ever touched your car. I can't see where they get a quote of $13K from, but I can easily see an increase in rates. Mine just went from $225 a month to $240 a month and there were no recorded accidents or tickets in the past 2 years. This is full coverage on my Camaro and liability on my Trailblazer.

I think it's insane that my car insurance went UP when I moved from California to South Carolina this summer.

$4,000 is absurd!!! Mine is $632 A YEAR -- Hell, my aunt's mother in law turned 100 back in March and her insurance went up to $2,800 a year... 1. How is $4,000 even possible? and 2. Who the hell can afford that? its more than the car payment!!!
