GM overtime is the best thing since sliced bread.
I remember one week, my dad got called in to work during the one week shutdown during the summer...and was given triple pay.

Yeah... Now that I went 3300 on the 5th, I hope this one extra day makes a big difference. Hopefully I wont be stuck at 3300 forever like so many others here have been.

I wished they would have slowly called in people from the other lines that were shut down and work them in. The best thing would have been save some jobs.

And extra shift is putting money on the table. I am sure they are people from the wider local CAW pool that where building GMC trucks a couple weeks ago building Camaro's know.
You want to make a lot but at the same time they don't want to make to many. Make what sells not more big rows of new cars anymore. GM is becoming more a make to order company in the internet age. I would hope GM embraces made to order. If done right can even increase customer loyalty. |
