Weight difference auto vs 6spd?

I couldn't believe that my race weight was 4400lbs!!! That is crazy for a performance car. I have the heaviest configuration(auto + sunroof) and I weigh 230 so I was wondering what a 6spd/no sunroof car weighs. Easy weight reduction of all contents in the trunk (pump, carpet, mat) which was maybe 15lbs is the only thing I could do to lower the race weight. There was a nice LED scale at MIR.

I weighed mine at Beaver Springs Dragway and with me out of it; weighed in at 4210.

My ZL1 is a 6 spd, no sunroof

Same set up with basically same numbers (4215) when weighed at my local drag; Maryland International.

There is probably 100lbs difference between the two. You have to remember the auto has allot more transmission fluid in it and then the fluid in the torque convertor. Plus the auto even empty weighs more.

At least your heavier automatic ZL1 is faster than the manual ZL1's.

You could have taken the back seat out, not sure how much lower that would have got you but the actual seat part doesn't require any tools to remove. If you want to go real extreme you could just give me your car and then you'd weigh in at just 230!

The first time I raced my ZL1 I went right to the scales after my first fun. With me OUT of the car it weighed 4085. M6 with no options. The scale was at Maple Grove Raceway in PA.
