As other have already said, yes. Regardless of whether your engine is modified or not it is going to suffer from carbon build up without one. A catch can is one of the best investments you can make in the long term "health" of your engine.

it really all depends. i wont be putting one one. no matter what anybody says this is a long term thing with oil build up. and even if you do not put one on, you can still have the engine cleaned later. i do not keep cars long enough to worry about a problem like this.

does the 6.2 benefit from a catch can too, or just mainly the V6?

Here is a photo i recently took inside of my intake manifold. This stuff should have been trapped by a catch can but instead it was sitting inside the manifold and ending up inside the heads on the intake valves. My engine is completely taken apart since I am in the middle of an LS3 conversion so I cleaned everything like new but i will be installing a catch can before I fire her back up. I plan to keep my car for a long time.

Here is another photo of the intake ports on my heads after i pulled the manifold off. There should not be any oil around those rectangular ports.
BTW my car only had CAI and full exhaust prior to this but I did drive it pretty hard at times.

Is there a differance between a NA and FI catch can or are they intermixable?
