IMHO, no. One, it's going to cost you more money because you're going to use a LOT more soap. Two, although you rinse the wash mitt in the rinse bucket, there is always a chance that some particles of dirt are going to get past your rinse. By submerging the wash mitt into the rinse bucket and then into the soap bucket again, you are completely submerging your mitt twice, which means that you get double the opportunity to dislodge any dirt caught in the mitt.

Depending on the mitt that you use, some of them are a little more prone to holding onto dirt particles. That's why I use that green knobby mitt that I do use, instead of those wool pads that I show in the videos. Those wool mitts would leave very fine scratches in my paint. It took me a while to figure out where they were coming from. Those green knobby mitts never have left any scratches whatsoever and they only sell that exact mitt at of all places, Auto Zone for $6..

You can find mitts that look like that one but trust me, Auto Zone is the only place that I have found one like that that didn't scratch my paint whatsoever. All of the similar looking ones did. That how I learned. I think they call it 'the hard way'.

Makes sense to me

Interesting about the autozone mitt. For now, I like my Cobra Chenille Wash Mitt and it hasn't scratched my paint that I can tell though so I'm happy

It is VERY necessary if you want to avoid continually swirling up your paint. It does no good to fix it if you're just going to scratch it all up again.

That's the one I started out with but I ended up going to the half-gallon one. If you use it on full foam, you go through the container pretty quick. That's why I now recommend the half-gallon size.
