I'm glad your loving your manuals and I too love them as well. I am in no way a hater of standard, I am simply saying AUTO rocks in it's own ways as well..
I will admit that shifting is more exciting in the actual overall drive experience but right now the auto is working for me and the paddles are adequate.
I think the biggest difference between us is in the "level of hardcore-ness".

Intellectually I know where many of the AT advantages lie and where some of the differences that matter more to me are found. And that's really the bottom line, finding out what matters enough to either actively choose or intentionally avoid.

Auto lacks a bit in the fun factor when stick lacks a bit in the in city driving. Both have there +'s and both have there -'s .. Easy way to sort them out is to buy one of each, which I intend to do, lol......

It doesnt really matter auto or stick. Different strokes for different folks. Atleast there is a choice.

Exactly. And to imply that driving an auto makes you "less of a man" is just silly.

lol.. it's uncanny how many people I know or know of, that either has traded a Jeep in on their Camaro (me), traded the Camaro in on a Jeep, or have both (also me).
uhh... I have both. You know, one for summer fun and one for winter fun.

Don't confuse the suddenness with which the next gear hits with the time that elapses between the instant that the upshift is commanded and when the mechanical bits actually hit to give you the next gear.

It's fine that you prefer an automatic and great that it performs very much to your liking. Really. Just don't give it more credit than it really deserves.

Ronnie Sox would have disagreed (and in otherwise identical cars, put yours on the trailer to prove it).

For me, it doesn't matter one bit that your AT can shift 1/4 to 1/2 second faster than I can, because most days I make up for that by being smoother (I'm strictly an amateur corner-carver where not upsetting the chassis is kind of important, not a drag racer where the shifting can be a whole lot harsher before bad or expensive things start happening).

Just never thought I could ever learn to drive a paddle, plus my fingers just tire to easily while paddling.

I bought the camaro with the idea that it was going to be my DD, and after 3 years of driving stick every day (cobalt SS) I wanted an auto for traffic. Welp, I kept the cobalt as my DD and I modded the crap outta my Camaro... Including the VVT/DOD delete and a blower. I guess I did it backwards. Do I wish I had a stick? My wallet would say yes, and those time you want to push in the clutch and rev when someone's in your way...yes. But my axles love me
