This would be cool! I would buy! But doubt IPF will go for that.

And this why Tracy is the man.
Modding a V6 is not fun anymore. The problem is that many mods tend to be a total waste of money. If you count what you have spent to what you have got, you will know the bad influence of drugs .

Who needs to put a CAI on ZL1 anyway ??

I would probably consider it once we see some results. You're not far from me, I wouldn't mind checking your car out one day. Maybe we can meet up at PBIR and you can run my turbo cobalt Might be fun to get a group of us GM enthusiasts down here to the track one day.

Back to the orignal opening title for this thread:

"Difference between Trifecta and IPF"

Cost and HP is what I see, both are great products. Just a matter of how much do you want to spend and get for that cost.

We have all seen the cost for Trifecta can be had for $300. and with that you can get 13 HP which was dynoed and proven. Along with the ghost cam if you choose to do so. Oh and for the automatic you can have some torque management revisions.

For IPF, I have not seen the cost publicly stated (maybe I missed it), I do know the cost as Jessee has sent me that thru a PM. From what I have read you can expect 40 HP. Many of us are waiting to see this on the dyno and track. All coming soon. I have not read anything about the ghost cam or torque management for IPF, all though I am sure both can be achieved, again time will tell.

So for now, ask yourself, what is your budget and end goal? Good Luck everyone.

The other thread on this confirms he does both. And he had PMd me letting me know that he can make a ghost cam on it no problem.

Jesse PM'd me a pretty great black friday price compared to the others I had seen. Otherwise, I'd search to see if there is possibly an IPF dealer anywhere near you and work them to see if they can't get you a better price.

Anyways, if everything works as the OP here has planned we should be seeing some results hopefully soon.

IPF Tuning

Hey man,

I sent you another PM. Let me know what you think so we can take care of something soon for you.

I hope all had a nice Thanksgiving!

Thanks,

Jesse!

I just e-mailed IPF on setting up a price to get them to tune my car so I can hop on a dyno with trifecta, then after with IPF to get a difference if both. I also am planning on doing 1/4 mile times before the track closes here in NJ(negative DA)

I will continue to post in this thread with updates and hardcore evidience on what actual gains we are looking at.

Thanks,
Matt

::::::::::::::Update 11/15/12::::::::::::::
Going to the track on black friday at Atco and going to dyno the car right after to get my base hp/tq and some slips. Then off to the testing.

Keeping an eye on this thread. Curious about the results. Currently a Trifecta owner and am very happy with the TQM results as well as the overall tune.

The car has a supercharger kit from a company in germany and is not running right. So some other tuners took a look at the tune.....

"The problem with Sycraft's (V6 Camaro owner) calibration is due to a poor understanding of how to properly calibrate the torque based strategy..ALL of his DTC's are turned off and none of the torque based tables are adjusted.

The issue for "Germany" is that if you lift the throttle at high KPA pressures the AFR goes to 9.0 and chokes the engine."

Hello !

Here my comment :

1) that is an installation with a press release action ... make sure that NO codes come up during the FIRST OUTSIDE MAIL-ORDER installation and test driving !

2) the torque based strategie at the GM inhouse ecu is well known .. we developed our own flashtool and we are tuning these ECUs since 2008 !

3) we have acsess to over 10.000 singel bit values ... function switches .. maps and control and limitation lines ... much more mods then a EFI-live readout of our ECU-Tuning possibly will show !

4) We are using a 50% bigger MAF housing on the SC intake side ... so our MAF signal will never be maxed out ... in this case we dont need to use the speed destiny mode with a 2 bar MAP sensor !

5) At Full load we are running AFR12.x until rev limit at 7250RPM ... and thats good for the DFI engine !

Not to hijack the thread, in fact I think this brings some more competition into the fray, but BNRacing I just saw your Trifecta sale. I am...so....tempted...

For everyone else here is the link, this is a great sale! http://store.badnewsracing.net/Trife...3112_p_92.html

I would still receive lifetime tunes right? Extra for FI/nitrous and free for bolt ons?

I did not do this to stir anything up. Only reason I made this thread was contacting Jesse @ IPF and to see the differences with pricing and the hp achieved out of each. No need to start petty arguments over what tune is better before anything even happen yet. Just stay tuned . I am still in contact with Jesse and getting things worked out, but had to change my track time to this sat at Etown since I only live 5 minutes apposed to the 3 hour drive to atco. Thanks for the support at I will update as fast as i can with the results and information I get by talking with Jesse

Happy Thanksgiving!

We appreciate it forsure.

So just to keep us all satisfied until then, give us a run-down of your plans.

By this saturday do you mean tomorrow? Are you planning to run different tunes at the track or just one tune?

Do you have a set schedule for the dyno runs yet?

Thanks.
