This is going to be a interesting side by side comparo. However, I do believe the results are going to be close. There's only so much you can do when it comes to tuning these Bosch e69. At the end of the day I think both tuners are very capable. However, I can vouch for Vince 120% as I do know personally how much time and effort he has put into making the LLT guys happy. Now the LFX delphi ecm is a much easier platform to deal with since its already supported by the giants and not to mention, by your favorite tuner in your area most likely. Can't wait to see the side by side comparison

Hello !

this data here : http://www.ipf-tuning.com/powertune/
belongs to the LLT 36V6 engine with Bosch ECU and 91Oct West coast Fuel !!

With 93Oct East Coast fuel you get +10-15PS more !

Im always surprised how much somebody thinks to know about the IPF-TUNING tool and programming .... !

I'm seeing a lot of people quoting "40HP" claims from IPF. I am the one that first brought that quote to this forum but that is NOT the case on the stock car. On stock, the number is 25 - 30HP which fits in line perfectly with their 10% claim. More if your are modded.

So lets get that straight.

Second, I still don't understand why they can get 30HP stock out of an LFX but half of that out of an LLT. Sure, the Bosch is harder to tune...blah blah blah....but if all the parameters are there to make similar tweaks as are being done to the LFX, why can't the LLT achieve similar numbers? Thats where my mind has been this entire time since this whole IPF tune debacle started. Someone smarter in this area than me, please feel free to explain to me where I am going wrong here.

Lastly...if the Trifecta tune is improving then why the heck don't we know about it? If there are improvements I want them, but I haven't tuned my car for a long time b/c there have been no improvements that I'm aware of...just improvements to datalogging and such but no power improvements. So do I need to ask for a new tune?

I'd love to see a coordinated effort on a head to head trial. Will need to make sure all is good with both venders before hand and be sure as BNR said that both tunes can be flashed back to stock.

So with 91 octane we can expect around 20-25 horse power, and with 93 we could expect 10 or 15 more horse power? Just making sure I'm understanding you correctly.

Base line dyno, load IPF, re dyno, swap back to stock and then load trifecta and dyno. To be fair, I will be sure same operating temps are maintained before each run. Thy Dyno is a mustang dyno. Heck, GM High Tech may even do a short article (no guarantee of that)

So lets get it done Trifecta, will you participate and donate a tune...
Shoot I'll let mine be the test car

What has been improved most recently? I think I read somewhere that they can do better than the original +13rwhp over stock but I haven't seen any dynos.

If Billy falls through, you can be in line for #2...

IPF does not lock their tune, can be flashed back to stock. So I am unclear, do we have Trifecta on board with a donated tune...? BNR do you want to use your Dyno? Let me know. I am off to PRI Wednesday and we can get set up for the following week. IPF tune is ready and willing. Heads up...

I work with HPLogic down here and I can get us unlimited time on a mustang dyno. I'd also be willing to meet up at Palm Beach International Raceway to do a 1/4 mile comparison of the tunes with the same car on the same day.

He posted that an IPF car can come down and get a free trifecta tune and free dyno time on the previous page, but I'll let him say for sure.

Yeah I personally don't care which dyno we use. I don't have a dyno of my own but I can use the one at HP Logic out in wellington, fl (still in palm beach county). I'm also fine to use someone else's dyno if you have it worked out. And yes I will give someone a free trifecta tune if they can secure an IPF tune to test against.

From what I have always understood about the Bosch is that all the parameters weren't unlocked to better tune it. Maybe this is where IPF has excelled at who knows but them.
