So is the lighting in the dash as well? My 2SS only has the doors lit up...

It would have been cool if GM had it carry across the dash so it looked like one continuous line of light.

I have a 2SS and wondered about the dash not lighting up like the door panels, I see I'm not the only one.

I read somewhere they did not do that because of driver distraction.

Don't know why...I have had it installed on my dash for a few months now and it is not distracting at all.

Yes but you did the mod yourself, it's different when coming from a manufactor.

I placed the light tubes exactly where the manufacturer would have to get the same effect and there is no distraction.

My guess is they had a hard time aligning things where the dash panels join with the door panels. The misalignment is not noticable with no lighting at the joint. If you try to get the lighting to wrap around the dash and doors, any slight misalignment is very apparent. That is why I left the doors stock and did not attempt to lengthen the lighting to the top as others have done.

Thank God they didn't do it. No offense, but that would've driven me nuts.

I have that product and am hoping to get it finalized soon. When it's up, I'll post some pics and a video to show the lighting quality. What I can say so far is that Ofer at Gen5DIY provided me with great quality in wiring, and the light color (OEM blue) is exactly the same as my doors.

Looking forward to the pics!
Also, did you buy the harness?

I have the harness. That was easy. I popped off my gauge pack and there was plenty of space to plug the cable into the existing harness. The only obstacle was weaving it up to the dash gauges, but that only took a moment.
