Yup...but it's still a good stop. If you don't want to get pulled over, put a plate on the front.

Also...I stop cars all the time for no front plate.....so it's not a "pretext" stop for me...its me doing my job.

States that require a front plate could generate more revenue if they set up an option for drivers who want to opt out by paying an extra fee. Something on the back plate could indicate to LEOs that an extra fee was paid to be able to only have one plate without penalty. Of course, the ultimate solution would be to get rid of this dumb law altogether.

Yup been there dont that... Got a $50 ticket while parked downtown in DC. The Officer also marked yes in the Tow Required section of the ticket, luckily I returned to my car prior to my car be towed for this ridiculous law.

In other words OP...the cop thought you had stolen the car from your parents or took it without permission. Then he was jealous you hadn't so he gave you a ticket.

In St. Louis you cannot stop the dealer from hammering the front plate bracket on. To weird.
