Scrap? I set mine out with the trash and someone snatched them, probably to take to the local scrap yard.

I'm keeping mine. They work and they sound great with the dual mode system.
I'm laughing at some of the comments on here.

They're ugly? Who lays on the floor and stares at mufflers?

They're heavy? Says who with their ugly 30 something lb a piece wheels? haha

GM put together something that works and doesnt have to be changed. You can skip the stupid catback that will likely sound like crap (and yes many of them do sound like crap) and spend your money on something that will make more than just a lot of noise.

Leave the mufflers alone and get a set of headers, or a cam.
Noise is just noise and is worthless.

After my cam/bolt-on install I left the stock mufflers on and they sounded great. I painted them black so they weren't ugly anymore. Got a lot of compliments - at idle and WOT the sound was awesome plus no drone at highway crusing speeds. But just as fellow C5 member Rage told me would happen - after about 1000 miles the mufflers started buzzing and rattling. Very annoying at low rpms. Apparently the stockers couldn't handle the high flow from the cam and LTs and rattled themselves apart. So off they came and I added American Racing's Pure Thunder mufflers to compliment the rest of my ARH set up. Now it sound even better - deeper more muscle car sound but got a little highway drone now. So there you go.

I advertised on a few different websites (craigslist, local website) for a few months. Price was free with local pickup (whole factory catback). No takers. Ended up donating them to a muffler shop.

I literally had a hard time giving them away. It's funny, because I see the factory exhaust for sale on craigslist all the time with some really high prices ($400+). I guess those people are just really optimistic.

they are a good company, but they are kind of hit and miss when it comes to parts so i don't take their word as law.

their cold air intake is a prime example.

Noise makes old people poop themselves. Priceless.

Just add some Solo hi flow cats to the stock system and gain some real rwhp and you will get a nice dual mode sound also. Paint the factory mufflers black to hide the silver cans.

Just removing the cats/resonators will prove the factory mufflers aren't what makes the car quiet.
