Voting was biased for multiple reasons:

A. Don't post forum member's names next to cars. It's not necessary for the voting period. If someone recognizes a car and votes for them so be it, but when everyone votes based off of names they recognize- it's biased.

B. The voting activity towards the bottom of the poll is significantly lower than the votes received at the top. Coincidence? I think not. Members casted their votes for a few members/cars they knew and then just threw the other votes around without thought. Thus, cars at the top got more votes.

C. Similar to B, but expanded on... Way too many cars to pick from. And too many votes to throw around. Where do you start? How do you narrow it down? It's like walking into a gallery with 100 paintings on the wall, vs a simple gallery with select paintings. The buyer doesn't know where to start.

Thanks for the votes everyone! I credit a good part of my victory on my location, Lydnhurst castle. Anyone in the New York/CT area should check it out. Its free and completely beautiful. Grats to the other winners as well, this should be a real nice calendar.

It is going to be biased no matter what. This is a really big forum! I'm on here regularly and didn't recognize all the names up there. I'd rather someone vote for a forum regular over a random too.
Cars towards the bottom on the poll still received a lot of votes and it doesn't look significantly lower. Its kinda rude to accuse people of throwing votes around without thought too lol

I think this whole contest was a lot of work and was conducted extremely well.

Nicely said Darkness I think we should show more appreciation for the oppurtunity to participate in a great calendar then spending so much time voicing opinions on how its conducted. Danny I want to personally thank u and ur team for creating such a amazing calendar for us to appreciate. Im honered to be apart of it.

Nope. I'd rather see a calendar house the best photography of the best looking cars. That's what will sell to the car enthusiast. Voting for a forum regular over a "random," regardless of quality, is a sure way to make sure this calendar only sells to a select few circle of friends on this forum.

A perfectly reasonable concern but also completely moot considering it wasn't just regulars who won. There appears to be very little bias at all. There are people on that list who are generally very popular and liked and did not win.

I don't think the votes being "biased" played a major part in the voting honestly.

I say that for a pretty good reason :

I am one of the "least popular" members on this forum; if you look at my member's journal, it hardly has 4 pages, and has no stars, as opposed to some of the "popular" Camaro Members on the forum, who are praised by so many. I have 900 posts, but most of those I racked up months/years ago, and recently started only posting progress pictures in my journal. I browse the forums, but I rarely give insight/opinion/advice. So for people to vote me 7th, I think the pictures of ALL the members who won speak justice for themselves.

However, I am sure there were some people who just looked at certain names that they recognized without looking at all the cars, and voted based on that, but it is what it is. You can't "purify" voting, just like you can't purify political voting; people are going to vote for who they are comfortable voting for.

With that said : I currently cannot find the HiRes photos of my photoshoot that I did to win my spot on the calendar. I do not feel that it's fair for me to keep my spot and add a low quality photo, therefore I am giving Dannymaro the opportunity to decide whether he wants to keep me on the Roster or not. It makes no difference to me. I threw my photo in this thread, just to see if people around the forum actually thought my car was a great looking car, not really even expecting to earn a spot, so I accomplished my goal.

I definitely would vote Deke736's car a a replacement, that shot is beyond awesome.

I think the calendar is a great idea and I applaud all the winners and Danny for the effort. The rules were well thought out as Danny anticipated vote shifting and created the "must vote for 12 exactly" rule to balance the results out. Unfortunately the poll didn’t automatically force 12 votes and it may have been too much to handle manually. I'm hoping the calendar comes back next year but maybe it should be set to only allow one vote per voter. Sure there would be forum favorites and campaigning but at least there would be more transparency in the results and a heck of a lot easier to administer.

I will also further add, that I think it's sad that you have some people really upset that they didn't make the cut, and are really turning this into a "Camaro Calendar Civil War". It's really not that serious, it's so many variables to factor in, and the fact that we are questioning whether people's votes were biased or not is just absurd in my opinion. This is Camaro5.com, we are supposed to be a community, not the Presidental Election.

tjk_art I don't think that is true at all. I came in 3rd in votes and I am not popular on here at all. If you look at my build there is pages of info & pics and just a few comments from others. I think Danny did a great job and I thank him very much. He has went out of his way to do a very cool thing. If you don't like it maybe you should do your own next year. No matter what someone does you will never make everyone happy.

THANK YOU DANNY!!! YOU DID A GREAT JOB WITH THIS CONTEST

I had to fly out to visit some family for Thanksgiving. On top of that, I came down with a really bad cold on the flight back. So with that being said, I apologize for not responding to some of you in time.

Back to business. I know there was a three way tie between Fastfreddie, Blackone and IPT. After receiving some votes from members who messed up voting the first time and adding those in as well, we have a two way tie between Blackone and IPT. Since both received the same amount of votes (106) I will include both in the calendar. I will shift one of the members up to the cover page to accommodate for this.

Here is the list of the members who made the top 13 (including cover page). These are not in any particular order. Congratulations to:

1. TaylorRyanSS
2. Cam62
3. Mlee
4. Laditee
5. FarthestNorth
6. IOMBlackDiamond
7. LS3SS
8. Racer778
9. S1k0
10. Blackone
11. TheStig
12. DarkneSS
13. IPT

I will mention this once again, please do not be discouraged if your car didn't make it. I know some members felt a little down when their rides didn't make the first cut and sure some will feel the same about this. This is about as level of a playing field as it gets. Members photos, members votes. If anyone sees any discrepancies please point them out. Also, if you see your name here please e-mail me the highest resolution image you have of the photo that was chosen. dannyez80@gmail.com

It is a great honor for me, it made the photo of my het Camaros in the calender

Thanks!
