Lt headers w/ hf cats or mufflers?
I am planning on getting longtube headers but i cant decide if i want to buy high flow cats with it or mufflers. What will give me less drone? Which one would be louder at idle?

Of course it would be louder without mufflers.

Maybe I'm the only one that read it this way but... Are you thinking of buying an extra set of mufflers and welding them in where your cats are/were?

Kooks does make a small 3inch race muffler that could go in the place where the cats would usually go I think. If you plan to supercharge down the road leave the cats off. If you dont plan on a supercharger or live in a state that needs the cats then get the high flow cats. Hope this answers your question.

I have kooks 1 7/8 headers with kooks hiflo cats no res or muffler and like the sound, its load if ur getting on it, a small drone at 1800--2000. u can hear exhaust in the car windows up while just driving, quiets down nice in 6th gear and you can hardly hear it

ok im sorry. my question was not very clear. I am getting stainless lt headers. The question is... should i get hi flo cats and keep my stock catback (magnaflow xpipe, no resonators/mufflers), or have no cats and a 3" flowmaster AT catback system?

O ok, sorry mis understood you. If you plan on ever going f.i. then id skip the cats, if not then I would just get some hiflo's.. You dont have to have hiflo's if you dont go f.i. but if you have emission testing you wont pass without them

I would get both, with that said if I could only have 1 I would get mufflers to keep California police of my case. They wont get on ground and check for cats but they will get you if car is to loud. Then start checking on your other mods which you do not want.

Long tubes are going on soon, no cats, no mufflers. XD We'll see if it's too loud, but I'm not worried. Until I hear otherwise, there is no such thing as too loud.
