Sir, the negative post is on the drivers side fender,if you look along the edge of the fender you will see a gray color type post protruding out from the edge of the fender.

When using the Camaro with jumper cables to jump someone else's car, where do you place the negative clamp in our engine bays??? I know we have the positive extension terminal in the engine bay, but where is the negative one???

Sent from my abacus using precise finger movements......

I think the post saying there is no difference between removing the negative and positive cable first should just be deleted, just so nobody gets the idea that it's personal preference or there is some kind of debate. Negative always comes off first, and goes back on last. Same with using jumper cables.

When I was in the military, one of the rules in the motor pool was "no jewelry." This was generally one of the "overlooked" rules... come on, wedding rings? Then one day, a guy took a little leap off of one of the HEMMETs in the motor pool (also a minor violation of rules, FWIW). The wedding ring snagged on something as he stepped off, and cleanly removed every particle of skin from there to the end of his finger.

You got that backwards. You unhook the negative first to avoid sparking on anything. The negative cable has to connect to the battery in order to complete the connection. it touching another ground source suck as the fender won't complete the curcuit, and if the negative cable does accidently hit the terminal, it's less likely to through a spark.

OP, to answer your question, yes either will accomplish the task, it's just a matter of which is safer.
