Question for people who already have their cars

Hi everyone. I've had mine for 2 months now, and my DIC says my average fuel mileage is 12.3. Is anyone else's number this low? I do drive it like it's stolen sometimes, but I didn't think I was going that crazy. Any input would be appreciated.

You answered your own question. If you want good gas you need to drive it that way...LOL

you need to reset it,, the longer you go without resetting it the slower it will be to update with current numbers

Richard,

How many miles do you have on it so far? I was talking to a source that knows GM motors inside and out and he told me that LS3/L99 engines take about 10-15K miles to really break in good. HP and mileage will pick up some around then. If driving it hard during a tank of gas getting 13 is pretty good with the miles you probably have on it.

Ive had mine almost 2 weeks and filled it up 4 times. My silverado is rated at less mpg and I fill it up on e every 2 weeks. I guessing driver input on both our parts. Granted I never went below 1/4 tank on the Camaro. It's not the gas guzzler I am

Getting about the same on my L99 but I have been over 4000 RPMS a few times in the 400 miles on it. I bet the wife gets much better mileage than I would.

I drove mine(2SSRS 6sp man) easy and in 5th and 6th and got 22.8, then I drove like like a maniac(hell, it's new, can't help myself) and got 14. I doubt I'll see 22 again til I take a long trip. I did reset it w/each tankful. Don't expect 25 if you follow me.

That's great!

Reminds me of the old '80s movie Get Crazy where Malcom McDowll's "DIC" talked to him.

BTW, mine is 13.9 at 1500 miles.

15.2 at 1170 miles. I reset it at around 900 miles when I had the oil changed.
