Thanks for your insight and concern. I had that thought myself; one of those "I want to make sure there aren't any unforseen issues before I make them for other people" deals. I have been watching and haven't seen any noticeable change in either the coolant or tranny temp readings. That being said, I am in Buffalo and not the Arizona desert so your concern should be well noted and watched out for by people in that type of climate. Thanks.

Best one I have seen is a guy took his plate in and made a vinyl copy of it and just applied it to the front fascia like any sticker . Look pretty good if you ask me. If you where driving would a cop notice this at 80 on the interstate ?? probably not .

That vinyl plate looks cool and much safer for both the car and the pedestrian than a sharp plastic and metal screwed on affair. I wouldn't notice at 80 but how about a parking cop or a foot patrolman in a downtown area? it's tempting to stick the normal plate on like that with some double-sided tape though.

Me: But sir, I do have a front license plate
Cop: huh... Oh, uhh....
I thought it was a law in Texas that you had to have both plates mounted.

When I was younger I never had a front plate, but then I thought they passed a law and if you don't have a front plate you can be pulled over and issued a ticket.

They also came out with the law about no license plate frames because it can cover up part of the plate.

BS stuff, but I thought you had to have one. Anyone else know? I'm just talking about Texas here.

That may be worth having just because it's so cool! I never run with a front plate and have just taken the few tickets I've had from the cops. They're only ticketing you because the cars nicer than anything they will ever had, or a bad marriage, or erectile dysfunction....

Update

Ok all, after over a week of "testing" I'm confident that it's good to go. Anyone interested, please PM me (again to confirm) and I'll start shipping Tuesday.

Hey I think it looks pretty good! Do you think it would work on a V6 though? I think I'm definitely going to want something like that. And can you take some more nice pictures of the car from normal angles with the plate so we can see how it actually looks? You are the front-runner for the "awkward angles" photography award.

Ask and ye shall receive. Shots are from approximately 20', one kneeling and one standing.

haha those are the same pix. I meant kindof from the front side 3/4 view like you'd normally see a car so we can see how it relates to the fascia and grill! I think it's the answer to the problem but I'd still like to see more!

Ask and receive...

You bring up a very interesting point about the V6's. I have only put these on V8's so far and I know the front V6 fascia is slightly different. I have to find someone with a V6 pronto and check whether the current configuration "fits" or if I need two different setups...

I like that Idea, but I will probably fabricate something myself to mount it with. Have to get the car first to see what I am working with.
