Actuall not droping all that much. JL audio C3 -650 , Amazon 261 shipped to the door. JL C5 -650 309 and 20 for shipping. Hertz hsk 165 high energy component set 409 and 20 for shipping. and the, think it was xl hertz were 100 more. If I remember right the focal poly were like 260 i think it was? I just want to get the best SQ, that has the most power handeling capacity. I want SQ over SPL, but I do listen to my music quite loud. I too have some jacked up hearing from loud maintenance work over the years. So what is normal for most to listen to I have trouble hearing. I already tried Memphis M class and Polk mm 6x9 which are still in the car. The polk are very very clear and sound good at low levels and can handel 125 RMS. , but they are really really bright at high volume. They kinda turn into a 6x9 tweeter. Its like nails on a chalk board. I talked with the guy I bought them from and he agreed to take them back and swap them for the 6501 6.5 speakers. They have a switch on the cross over to turn down the highs to -3db. I am hoping this will help. If not a set of JL c-3 or focal for the back. 250 max for the back and 400 for the front was my budget.

Well, on another form members info, Thanks, I called Tod at TC audio in Benton AR. We talked for bit and He had a great price on a set of Hertz hsk 165. 's So I told him I could send my wife by there because she was in Little Rock with our son and the children hospital. My 13 year old, Jacob, was there to get his 3rd degree burns treated on his right leg. SO I called her and gave her his number. She called him and instead of her having to go pick up the speakers. This cool dude got in his truck and drove the speakers to the hospital... I could not believe it. Thanks Tod , But thats not the best of the story this is what happened when I got them from my wife later that evening. I opened the box and started checking out my new killer speakers and I discovered that Tod was way cooler than I thought. He packed up a set of Hertz hsk 165 XL for me. I was like what the crap. No way. So I called him and asked about it and he said that my wife and I had been through a lot with our son and he had hoped that bringing the speakers up there and giving me a little better set would help take my mind off all the stress off trouble with my son and his burn. I cant thank him enough, Tod your the man...... We have to get back up there in a couple weeks and I will stop by to thank you in person.......

I was kinda thinking the same thing Draggn.. lmao. After some diging around it seams Harman Kardon makes or is asociated with JBL. That Logic 7 Eq setting is the same on on my 1600.00 Harman Kardon home audio reciever. Although it is now outdated by 4 years I only listen to logic 7 out of the other 9 settings it has. NEO 6, DTS, dolby digital 1 and 2 THX, and others. It is the clearest sounding to me. IT too came with a stand and a small microphone that I had to place were I sit when I watch a movie/tv or what ever. Then a couple clicks and it starts auto setting were everything is in the room, how far and adjust each speaker seperatly for were I placed the pick up. kinda cool, I have had a very strong notion to see whe these Herts will do on this sterio. I have two B&W towers but the rest are infinity tower speaker for a total of 6 with a 12 150watt and a 8 100watt powered polk sub. Becides the B&W 802's these are the best speakers I have ever bought. and they do sound better to me than the B&W. or at least that was the impression left in my ears by sound waves in Memphis. I dont have a completely sound proof sound deandend small room set up though. I bought my B&W used and HK on clearance from circut city when they were still in buesness. HK 735...... Retail was like 3200 they wanted 1600 I got it for 900.. Owww I f memory serves right it's called EZ-set EQ dont know if thats the same on the MS-8????

I've been looking for a reciver thats powerful enough to run them also without going to a separate amp. Looks like the only decent priced unit that runs around 150w rms and will run 4ohm is an Onkyo piece, which is actually surprisingly cheaper. Havent decided if i'm really gonna run an MS8. But my towers are in the build mode right now

Thanks for the kind words Mitchel. Just trying to do what I do bro.

Btw, MS-8 does wonders in a short amount of time if installed and setup correctly but there are also several others out there capable of doing what you need. Although requiring a little more experience, I prefer the Audison Bit One. Let me know when you get ready to upgrade. Thanks...
