Technostalgia taillight question

Has anyone hooked up their lights and used just the burner ring as the running/parking light? And I know a while ago there were some issues with these lights, have the newer sets been more issue free?

There is no way of doing that. The LED's on the outer lower portion of the light are always on when you turn your lights on. These are not controlled by the logic for the rapid fire and sequential turn signals. As for problems....Some do, some don't. I have mine installed in July and had never a problem with them. Mine are the latest release of them.

So when your lights turn on, what leds are on? Just the lower portion? or everything? basically, when I drive around at night, all I want running is the lower, outer ring. And then the upper portion to do its thing as the brake/turn.

I like the look of just having the lower circular ring of LEDs on but, all of the LEDs come on. According to Todd from technostalgia, they are made that way for DOT compliance.

the outer rings will stay on if the pink power line is disconnected from battery maybe you could put a switch between that line...

They stay on when the car is running or you mean they stay on all the time? I just want them on when my lights auto kick on, I want only the outer ring on and not the main cluster of leds. I want the main cluster to work only when I use the turn signal or hit the brakes. I'm looking for a decent priced set right now. I'm gonna call Technostalgia tomorrow and see if I can order direct since I do work at a shop with all the resale/wholesale licenses.

Why don't you just install afterburners in your current sets? I hear a lot of horror stories with the technostalgia

Yeah, I have also. I like the rapid fire and sequential turn signals though.
