Ok the problem is they are not even a reliable dyno company the only two dynes anyone should use would be dyno jet or mustang preferable th mustang because they have the most accurate eddy current loading system this is probably just a junk inertia dyne that just spits out a number all though it may be correct it does not account for the weight and aerodynamics of the car

So what's the mystery about an SS putting out 402 HP to the rear wheels? Sorry but I had to ask. I'm sure I'll be well schooled after asking a question like this.

There is not much variation in the production engines, a couple hp here or there. The biggest variations are from - weather, fuel, dyno, dyno operator... |

2 cents
generally the Camaro SS with the 376 ci LS3 puts down.....
426 HP (at the flywheel) minus the load of the drive system to the wheels. I have heard that 15% is normal for the drive train to consume horse power before it gets to the wheels. so 426-70=356 give or take horse power at the wheels (stock) intake/ exhaust / tune, will normally bring that to about 400+ So his 1LE may have an unusually hot tune..(from the factory) maybe ther is race fuel in it too.LOL |

I did 389 in my stock ss with only a cai and flowmasters.
402 definitly possible in a strong motor. Considering the ES and exhaust it could be true. |

Thanks guys. I owned a 2006 GTO before the SS and the brochure boasted of 400 HP and 400 pounds torque to the rear wheels. Perhaps that's just Pontiac math.

First off... I'm not gonna throw out the
yet... but it is a little bit of a stretch imo. I haven't seen any other dyno vids for a stock 2013, let alone a 1LE with NPP and 3.91's so its hard to compare to anything else. Now... just listening to it it almost sounds like he has it in 3rd gear... it turned up really fast.. and I don't know much about dynoing a car... but is it possible that could jump up the numbers slighly? Considering most are done in 4th gear, WOT from 2000 rpm.

Nick said he was in 4th. These are all serious racing car guys. I was told a third run would have been a little more even.
Doubt the machine could be off by over 10%. Time will tell. |

Or is there a generally accepted rule that you go from the gear that gives closest to a 1:1 ratio? Thanks for any info. P.S. the lethal guys are reputable and know what they are doing |
