I'm assuming you are talking about the bowtie on the grill? If so, that's not going to be an easy task. When you look at it closely, you will notice that the grill contains an inset for the bowtie which an SS badge will not completely cover. The Heritage grill however........

Nice job Hylton! I saw your car in person on Saturday, but you were not around it when I was there. I couldn't stay long and spend way too much time drooling over the '67 Yenko!

I like that you left the front splitter off and think it looks much better that way. I'm not really into GFX stuff, but the side skirts look very good. For my personal taste, I would like to have seen GM trim the rear lower GFX panel so the car doesn't look so wide at the back. I would have also prefered smaller, round exhaust pipe openings. Maybe that can be your next mod

Darn Mark! I was hoping we'd get a chance to talk. Did you talk to Brian H.? Would have loved to be a fly on that wall!

As for the car, only two more exterior mods remain, the Ron Fellows fender slashes on the driver's side and the Heritage grill with the SS badge in the middle.

The GFX aren't for everyone but it offers the opportunity to not see yourself come and go. Things aren't that way now but just wait a few years! I also like the GFX because it is the only thing which I can point out that ties the car to the 3rd gens. Every Camaro generation can be seen somewhere in my cars exterior. Since I have 2 of each generation, this was important to me.

I went down specifically to see your car and the other 2010's so I can decide on a colour. It's a toss up between Silver and CGM at this point. I was also hoping to thank you in person for looking at that L78 for me last year. I didn't get to the hotel until about 3 pm and had to leave at 4:30, so I didn't really get to look at the other cars as closely as I would have liked to.

Yes, I talked to Brian for at least an hour. We had a really good chat about the players in the first Gen world He's a really decent guy.

Here's my mailslot delete secret:

1. Start with an SS fascia from GM.

2. Find yourself a doner bumper made of the same material.

3. Cut 2 pices out of the doner bumper which cover each side of the mail slot.

4. Melt pieces into one another.

5. Sand down flush after the weld.

6. Finish and paint.

I saved the original front fascia if I want to go back to original but it is the exact same part as the one I started with. These pictures pretty much show you what was done:

VERY COOL Hylton!!!
That is kinda genius too. Save the original and cut up a donor.
Thank you for sharing! I appreciate it.

I know it looks like you all had a great time! Darn work :( I bet your car looks even better in person too! I'm in MI, but will show Jeff when I head back...I'm sure he'll love it! It's so fun to see how people personalize their cars, and I really like the choices you made...very clean and classic.
