There is a section of rubber weatherstrip that is attached to the top assembly and seals against the rear quarter window when the top is closed. The bottom of this weatherstrip section will sometimes kick out, as pictured above, when the top is raised and closes. That section should not be seen at all when the top is closed, as it is supposed to stay under the body.

Hope this helps.

Don't panic...not everyone has top issues...15 months here with no problems at all with the car. Still love it like day one!

Sorry to hijack the thread...

I have absolutly no problems with my convert and I took delivery on !2/26/2011, but recently I had shoulder and bicep's reattachment surgery and won't be able to drive my car for another 3 months so mine only has 732 miles on the odometer (although I left the top down all summer) no wrinkles or v-cuts.However, on my way to work last week, I saw a 2011 vert in an Classic Car restoration place getting the top redone The v shaped holes over both driver and passenger doors and wrinkles all over behind the rear windows. I asked the man who was fixing the car what he thought was wrong and his comment was "even 1950 Caddy convertibles don't have a 5 bow design". He said "he has never seen a worse mechanism design on any convertible he has worked on", so Chevy really messed up with our cars.

Ditto, so far so good. My top has worked wonderfully. I have seen more than a few Mustangs with real top issues, and their roof is much smaller.

Oh yeah, saw a 95 or 96 Pontiac Firebird ragtop that had a beautiful top, no issues at all.

If you would like, I can check your VIN for any open recalls or programs, if applicable. We are happy that you love your convertible. Please let us know how recovery goes.

Is there a link to your complete story?...every make and model has a few cars with problems...being a fellow camaro owner I am always a little more interested in these types though!

Mine did that on the passenger side once. The dealer made an adjustment and lubricated the rubber with silicone and I lube it once a month and it hasn't happened again.
That's the only issue I have had in 6 months and hundreds of top cycles.

Glad you got it done, what did you get to replace it?

It's really unfortunate that with all the testing that they did and after all the "fixes" that they can't seem to nail it. Hope you're not gone from Camaro all together but if you are I understand. :(
It was good of you to not tell him. I hadn't been here until after I bought my 2012, and after reading about all the problems some folks have had I worried about mine a lot for the first few months. Turned out I've had no problems of any kind with the car. You spared your dad's neighbor the worry.

In time, you'll learn about Brandon......and you will learn a whole new meaning of the word "frustration" via "Brandon" if you ever have issues with your vert.

Thank you dakota74,

Hope I never need a new top but it seems more and more convertible owners are seeing too many problems and like I said right now I can only go to the garage and look at my car until April. I'm sure when I get to put the top down in springtime, I'll see some wear and tear.
Merry Christmas down there in my home State of N.J.

Don't believe everything bad people say about Brandon. Many on here he has helped with issues.
