Can you give me the rundown on the side markers? I think a member i met has them and gets harassed by cops because of the color of the lights. Would be nice to get some silver ones to replace the ugly huge orange ones. Last thing I need is more attention from LEOs

Gunny is in Oceanside and they have a rep for paying extra attention to cars with base stickers, just like Coronado and downtown SD.

I'm just south of you and I've had them since last Christmas and haven't had an issue. My car is loud as hell and the side markers are very bright and I get grief for noise, tint or no front plate, not the lights.

Good info, funny you knew who I was talking about. My veterans license plate has gotten me out of one ticket for tint I dont know if I can count on it for wrong colored blinkers

That is actually the first time I've heard of drivers getting harassed by the Police for LED sidemarkers. We're modifying a couple to have red front/rear, but as far as the orange front with red rear is 100% legal.

The only thing that comes to mind is that if you ghost (paint) them red, it'll make the orange led strip have a slight hue of red to it, but nothing to attract attention from the "dark side"

There is a form on here somewhere where it shows exactly where the LEDs fall in the spectrum. You can always print it out and stick it in the glove box.

My vet plate has saved me once or twice too.
