Anyone else have issues with IW's 8 rib OD Crank Pulley?

So, a buddy installed the IW 10% OD crank pulley on his 2010 LS3 powered SS. Since it has been installed it has shredded 3 A/C belts, been sent back to IW only to be told it is within spec's, and just threw the A/C belt off taking the A/C clutch plug and wires with it. The alignment checks out ok with the laser, it's locked down correctly and this belt issue will not go away.

IW wants him to pull it off again, send it back so they can check it again, etc. Needless to say, he is not a happy camper.

I doubt that this is a unique issue and wanted to see what others have done, other than switch out to the LPE part.

He is only using the OD crank pulley and does not have the complete 8 rib upgrade, can that be part of the issue?

Question. Is this happening on the dyno or just cruising around? I only ask because I had my AC belt get tossed on the dyno. No damage was done and we were spinning the blower absurdly fast. When on the dyno or track I take the AC belt of just in case. I have no issues driving on the street,

I had an IW 8rib that was out of round, I bought it used from a member here and it had less than 10K miles on it, they fixed it for $50 and rebuilt the entire thing and sent it back to me and all has been fine.

All the issues have been found after street driving. The belts were checked, the car was driven 30 miles when the A/C belt was thrown off taking out the plug and wires.

If it was aggressive driving I could see a little slop causing the belt to come off, but there wasn't any of that this time and it still came off.

Doesn't the AC belt stay on the stock dampner? The one behind the IW?

The car has less than 1000 miles on it since it was "checked" by IW and they gave it a passing grade. Obliviously that doesn't mean a hole lot.

It took nearly a month to get it back from IW the last time they had it.

Zero issues and I'm sending one back to get rebuilt here next week. Has he replaced the a/c tensioner or looked at the a/c clutch or anything else that could cause it?

Not yet. The car has less than 22k miles on it. It had zero issues until the OD crank pulley went on.

I tossed my a/c belt yesterday. It just came off and was dangling behind the balanced. I had to remove it to get home then reinstalled. After a test drive and a hell ride, it is still hanging in there. BTW I'm running a new GM belt.

I have shredded mine twice in the last couple months. In the spring I will look

into the problem and see if its normal with this much power or if its a

compressor problem. btw I have stock balancer and 6 rib

That's how we found his on Tuesday. Popped the hood to check the belt and it was thrown off.

What power level are you at? With the OD crank pulley, OD rear cogs on the Maggie and the 3.6 front pulley he's right at 11.5 pounds of boost.

Is he putting on new belts or just re installing the same one?

I've thrown mine a few times while smacking the rev limiter. The design on these new camaro's suck. My Vette has never thrown the AC belt.
