This Shuddering like an Engine Missing problem is happening with my car, just like a Manual Transmission in 4th gear would do around 30mph , then accelerating slowly, without it downshifting into a lower gear to complensate for this problem. Anybody else having this problem, as I want to know if I might have a Torque Convertor going out prematurely, as I only have 5,000 miles on the car that is only 4 months old? Thanks for those who reply with the same or similar problem.

UPDATED: Got a call from my Dealership and they found the Torque Converter Bulletin and have ordered me a Brand New Torque Converter that is supposed to be a new corrected one, as opposed to the one that came in my car that is only 4 months old and has only 5400 miles on it so far. We will see if the new Converter corrects the problem around the end of next week. I will repost back to this thread!

What is your car build number?

You make an appointment with your dealership and they can get you in and out the same day! Unless they find something else, after they diagnose your problem. Hope this helps.

My 2012 2LT Camaro RS's Build Number is 8770, which is the last 4 Digits of my Vin number, just like where everyone else's is found on your Vin Plate under the Windsheild on the Drivers Side. Hope this helpsl

Like anything else, you always have to take the car in for them to diagnose the problem, then order the Torque Converter like they did for me and the others that had a problem. GM Dealerships will NEVER stock Torque Converters for any car, as they have to come out of a state in which you live, from that HUB Center for GM, or directly from Michigan like mine came in from, exactly one week after I originally took it in for the problem. Nothing like this problem is done immediately whenever you take any car into any manufacturers dealership, as if they do not have the parts in stock, they have to order them in from their nearest parts HUB. Hope this helps, as the small wait is well worth it, at least mine was and am finally getting to really enjoy my car for what it is. Keep us posted on your results.

When I had the problem with mine, I called the local dealership (All American in Killeen, TX) and discussed with the Service Manager, describing the symptoms. He asked me to bring the car in so they could ride in it for a formal diagnosis. Took him just a couple minutes in the car to confirm--and he had already ordered the replacement torque converter based on my description over the phone. Two days later the car was in the shop; out that afternoon. Runs great since.

Is there a way for me to take care of this problem before the shuddering occurs? Or do I just keep driving it like a ticking time bomb, waiting for it to explode?

No your dealership will not do anything for you until your car starts experiencing the problem that I and several others have experienced and got them taken care of within a very reasonable time frame. Hope this helps, as drive your car and enjoy it, until you start feeling a shuddering sensation under light throttle or whenever the engine is under a load at low speeds around 30 to 40 and again 50-55 mph. then take it in and they will know what to do and replace your Torque Converter at no charge to you.

Took mine to my dealer 3 weeks ago. 10 mins to diagnose, and they sent me off in a rental. They have been doing enough of these that they are keeping 2 converters on the shelf. Drives way better and it improved the mpg's.
