I usually refuse the extended warrantybut the 2010 has several $1000+ ticking time bombs that start showing up after 10,000 miles. Heater core, Oil pump, and AC compressor seem to be the common problems.

Get one through AAA.Its a third the price and you can take it to any AAA shop.My thoughts are General Motors gives you such hassles with the regular warranty, why give them thousands to hassle you again!Plus the Motor trans and re is covered for 5/100k!

Don't buy any extended warranties without checking the BBB complaints on them first. I have had two vehicles with GM extended warranties and had no issues with repairs. Then I had one aftermarket warranty I paid $1,000 for and they denied everything.

So, when a disputed warranty claim came in, we CRM (customer relationship managers) as we were known, would look up past claims of the customer, TSB's, know warranty issues, and how many past new vehicles the customer had purchased. (Caddilac owners were the most loyal). Anyways, all of that was taken into acct, including the dlr's rating of customer service and how much warranty work they did. So, GM would allow CRM's to warrant work out of the normal warranty period, even for TSB's or for whatever reason you chose. I personally authorized a buyback on a 99 Vette that kept locking the poor owner INSIDE the car, keyfob kept changing the code and wouldn't open the doors. He had a vert and that is how he got in and out. It got to be such a thing that GM would honor some people out of warranty and not others, that Consumer Reports "investigated"....calling GM's policy "secret recalll warranties" for covering TSB's or just covering an issue when the warranty had ended. Actually, just a few months on the job would take the most idealistic person into a scowling jaded person in no time. We CRM's would call the dealer, the customer, look over all the data and make a decision. Had a Caddy owner who had 12 previous cars, not from the same dealer but still very loyal. He was out of warranty by about 4k miles and had an issue that was known per a TSB. Well, I authorized the work by the dealer, simple enough. Ironically, it was folks that never ever bought a new GM or any GM, one guy who complained to Consumer Reports bought a Chevy Beretta with 92k miles, 3rd owner and was upset the dealer wouldn't replace the leaking water pump, but his mother-in-law got a new one 1k out of warranty. Others would try to invoke the Lemon Law with "mysterious grinding noises" that couldn't be replicated at the dealer and after 3x would try for a buyback, most were people trapped in leases, so they were deperate. So a long story for a short answer: Yes, GM can and does honor TSB's even out of warranty, or they did almost 13yrs ago. Peace out.
