New Gears Coming!
I know, not another "just ordered my 1le 3.91 gears" thread, but what the heck. I spent the last 2 days e-mailing Erik@Lashway Motorsports and I can't say how easy it was to work with him! Top notch customer service addressing all my concerns. I ordered their diff swap kit so I can do the changeout myself next month while I'm putting in my BMR stage 2 kit. After some advice on this forum I concluded the extra money now for the billet main caps and new diff cover is cheap insurance over a blowout later. Can't wait to get these bad boys installed!

You'll love the new get-up-and-go when you get those installed...Erik & Josh are great to work with also.

So while I'm waiting for my new diff to arrive, I can't help but keep drooling over the other options out there. I came across Ted's posi upgrade on his site that says it includes detailed install instructions. Has anyone done this upgrade by themselves or is this best left to the pros? Just wondering in case I get the itch.

The diff bushings aren't worth it. We ended up going with the stock ones with different hardware and got better performance out of it. My aftermarket diff bushings didn't last under heavy abuse.

I'll have to shoot Erik an email. He's waiting on a new core (or one to be returned) to start my build. I got the billet main caps and upgraded LPW support cover with my order. I have the BMR street bushings in my kit, and for my driving habits they should do just fine. I didn't see that Lashway offered the upgraded posi as part of their package so that's why I wanted to know if I could install it myself after all the rest of the diff is already set up. Thanks for the replies.

The posi mod isn't hard to do except you have to pull the posi unit out of the rear and take it apart. I had the shop put the posi mod in when they did my 3.91s and watched them do the mod.

It figures. I couldn't find anyone that didn't recommend the aftermarket differential bushings, including my local LS shop.
