The deal used to be that you wouldn't be getting proper oil pressure when the engine was cold. Today, I warm my cars up to 100*F indicated if it's cold out, just so I can use the heater within a few minutes of driving, no other reason

The inner spring on your 455 doesn't do much for seat or compressed pressures. It is a dampener to help with harmonics. True double springs look like a spring inside of another spring. The 455 spring looks like a flat coiled piece of metal inside of the actual spring.
