Does the Hot Wheels edition conv. have an optional blue top?
Matching top like the dusk edition? Or only black top?

FWIW, the ratio of Hot Wheels editions convertibles to hardtops looks like it's going to be about 15%. The verts are going to be looooow production.

Thats because they are charging about 3-4 grand more than its worth for the HW package. If they combined some 1le parts with it it might be worth it but as it stands its hard to justify 7 grand for a blue paint job.... Let alone the leaky top model.

Recall the 21" wheels and tire package are a huge part of the cost.

Well so far they've built at least 50 2SS/RS's!

HWSE Package includes RS package, so that adds $1350.00 to the package. Add the oversized wheels and tires, interior stitching, badges, premium mats, premium engine cover are the main difference in the 1LE and the HWSE. Add an RS package to a 1LE package and you are at $4850.00
If you want a 1LE I get why you wouldn't want a HWSE. Its a different car. I like the look of the HWSE and want to add my own performance chassis enhancements. So it really comes down to what look you are going for. If you don't like or want the Hot Wheels badging then don't order one. The Hot Wheels package is more than just $6995.00 for badges. To each their own. 21" tires are pricey. Heh heh

If I understand it right you add the HWSE package cost to the price of a 1LT or 1SS, so the package includes the costs of 1LT>2LT/1SS>2SS upgrade (EDIT: I didn't that is incorrect, you have to start with 2LT or 2SS) as well as the RS package, special grille, paint, wheels, etc. If that is true I guess it's not that bad of a deal. Gosh they sure are beautiful in the flesh.
Oh you get a fancy door sill plate too! Last edited by MLL67RSSS; 04-04-2013 at 07:58 AM. |
