top trim removal

I'm considering modifying the top to make it "touchless". Does anyone know how to remove the trim that is around the latch? My first thought was that it just pops out like everything else but doesn't seem to be coming out very easily and I don't want to break my brand new car

Can't help with the latch cover.....but what does "touchless" mean? What are you trying to do?

I see how touchless could work when raising the top. However I don't think you can do it while lowering. I don't think the BCM software will let the top lower without a handle turn.

I want to add a module to a remote start key fob. Hit a button and it will drop the top, hit another an the top will raise

I believe there are screws visible on the forward edge of the top with the top unlatched and raised a few inches.

1955 chevy belairs had a very rare option- rain sensor to automatically raise the top. Possibly the first American car to have this. (Although Cadillac probobly also had it as a dealer-installed option.)
