Good gracious, the packing is being blown out of the muffler! That's all it is. I had it happen on my aftermarket exhausts on my motorcycles. It happens occasionally. The funny thing is if you had enough miles on the car it would have burnt away the packing and you would have never known for the better. Aren't the exhausts made to GM's specification by an outside vendor?

I C a lot of black carbon on that outside pipe. Did you do the fuse pull? If so, does anyone think it negatively affects the muffler? Also, if fuse pull caused this, warranty may not be valid. Food for thought.

Looks to me it's not falling apart, looks like the shear power blew it out...LOL! I had an O2 sensor go bad, didn't stop the car from winning the race I was in though. Let face it ALL mechanical things WILL wear and break sooner or later. Never heard anyone say that they had a vehicle last 20+ years and not replace a part.

Take it back to dealership and tell them to turn down the boost.
It looks like it needs wings.
Cable for opening the hood.

I was laughing when I first read this thread, looked like a cat died in the exhaust. However, I was a little curious so decided to take a look in my exhaust, and low and behold, there is that nappy looking dread locked wiry thing? Maybe this should be a TSB. I havent taken mine to the dealership yet as I just saw it.
